Rover 620 Overview
The Rover 620 is classed as a compact executive car and was produced by the British car manufacturing company the Rover Group. This car was in production from 1993-99 and is part of the Rover 600 series. The last two digits of the 620 are referring to the engine size, i.e. 620 = 2.0L, and the first digit is for the series. This car was designed as a replacement for the Austin Montego and it shares most of its design with the Honda Accord. The Rover 75 replaced all of the 600 series cars and was available as a 4-door saloon. These cars were well built, making them quite a reliable car. They are value for money but lack safety features and are not that well equipped. Does this sound anything like your experience of the Rover 620?
Rover 620 History
The Rover 620 (1993-99) was basically an altered Honda Accord. All the mechanical parts are from the Honda Accord, with some exterior and interior parts being altered such as the grille and dashboard. They were also available in different colours to make a distinction between the two. The low prices of the Rover 600 series meant it was more in competition with the large family car class than the likes of the BMW 3-series in the compact executive car class. The 600 series was quite popular but was replaced with the Rover 75 which was developed under the BMW owned Rover Group. The 600 series ceased production in 1999.
